Title of the subject: Drilling technologies of engineering and exploration wells

Learning outcomes: This subject deals with purpose and signification of geological surveys based on information obtained from exploration wells by various drilling technique and technology. The subject describes also types, forms and reasons of engineering well performance and wells for building purposes.

Brief content of course: Introduction, history and purpose of engineering wells. Basic terms in drilling technique. Wells dividing and main differences between deep-mined, exploration a engineering drilling. Drilling technologies of engineering wells. Drilling machines and equipment for engineering wells drilling. Engineering wells ; spiles, Milanwalls, anchors, dewatering and draining works, injecting wells. Assessment and price calculation of bores. Engineering wells used in hydrogeology ; water sources capture. Engineering wells used in building industry ; anchorage wells, lyeing wells, freezing (congealing) spiles and other special wells. Core drilling ; sample offtake. Big-diameter and small-diameter wells, protection of the environment and of undergroundwaters. Design, liquidation and safety by drilling wells.
