Learning outcomes: Giving a picture of the computer systems within engineering design. To provide an insight into the engineering design process with different level of the computer support. According to the applied approaches and modeling subject in computer it classifies the systems as CAD, CAE, Project Planning and Simulation systems. Special attention is devoted to the selection of the most known representatives of such systems. All the exercises are performed with computers and settle practical tasks.
Brief content of course: Analysis of the design process. Computer graphics and different level of computer support to the design. Hardware of ASP systems. Passive and active graphics of the systems. Input and output facilities of the systems. Software of the ASP systems in general. Level of integrity and modularity and functional structure of the ASP. Geometrical modeling and CAD systems. FE modeling and CAE systems. Network modeling and PP systems. Simulation modeling and simulation systems. Presentations of the most known systems in mining industry.
