Learning outcomes: The absolvent of the course will have basic information about the sequence stratigraphy and about its importance during the research of the raw materials. He should be able to interpret various geological data (sedimentary profiles, seismic profiles) in terms of sequence stratigraphy and identify the sediments of the highest potential.
Brief content of course: 1. Position of the sequence stratigraphy within the hierarchy of the scientific disciplines 2. The main terms of sequence stratigraphy 3. Definition and classification of the sequence 4. Sequence-stratigraphic models and the description of the systems tracts and chronostratigraphic surfaces 5. Practical tasks focused on the verification of the presented knowledges
